Mets Lose Close One To Nationals

The Washington Nationals squeaked to victory over the New York Mets yesterday at Nationals Park with the Nationals triumphant 4 to 3. It was a thrilling night of baseball that anyone with Nationals tickets will definitely cherish.

Nationals pitcher Tyler Clippard (2.91 ERA) got the win, while Sean Green (4.73 ERA) took the loss for the Mets. J.D. Martin went 6 innings for the Nationals, allowed 7 hits, no home runs and 3 earned runs with 2 walks and no strikeouts. The Mets’s starter Mike Pelfrey went 7 innings, allowed 8 hits, one home run and 3 earned runs with one walk and 2 strikeouts. Pedro Feliciano (3.07), and Francisco Rodriguez (3.09) also pitched for the Mets. With the win, Clippard’s record goes to 3-2, while Green falls to 1-4. Mike MacDougal earned the save for the Nationals, bringing his saves up to 18.

The win puts the Nationals at a record of 54-103, (37 games behind the division leader), while the loss brings the Mets to 67-91, (24.5 games behind first place in the division).
