Mets spanked by Braves at Citi Field

The Atlanta Braves crushed the New York Mets yesterday at Citi Field with the Braves coming out on top 11 to 3. It was a solid match that aficionados with Braves tickets won’t soon forget.

Chipper Jones provided much of the offense for the Braves with an incredible 4 runs batted in. In addition to the 11 runs, the Braves scored 10 hits and committed no errors. Martin Prado led the Braves in hitting with 3 hits, followed by Derek Lowe’s 2 hits, and Nate McLouth with 2. The Mets didn’t have anyone with a big night with not one batter getting more than 2 hits. The Mets scored 3 runs, 7 hits and no errors.

The win puts the Braves at a record of 80-70, (8 games behind first place in the division), while the loss brings the Mets to 65-86, (23.5 games behind the division leader).
