The New York Mets got a tough win over the San Diego Padres yesterday at Petco Park with the Mets picking up the W 4 to 2. It was one heck of a game that folks with Mets tickets aren’t likely to forget.
Mets pitcher Mike Pelfrey (2.39 ERA) got the win, while Wade LeBlanc (3.67 ERA) took the loss for the Padres. Mike Pelfrey went 8 solid innings for the Mets, allowed 4 hits, no home runs and one earned run with 2 walks and 8 strikeouts. The Padres’s starter Wade LeBlanc went 5.1 innings, allowed 7 hits, one home run and 2 earned runs with 4 walks and 4 strikeouts. Ryan Webb (1.32), Edward Mujica (3.46), and Joe Thatcher (1.74) also pitched for the Padres. With the win, Pelfrey’s record goes to 8-1, while LeBlanc is at 2-4. Francisco Rodriguez earned the save for the Mets, bringing his saves up to 10.
