Cardinals edge Mets by 1

The St. Louis Cardinals beat the New York Mets in 13 innings yesterday in a hard-fought game of baseball. At a baseball game anything could happen, and an MLB extra-innings game is always a possibility. You don’t often see such high scoring games, and anyone with Mets tickets sure got their money’s worth. This high-scoring game saw the teams combine for a whopping 15 runs! Talk about excitement!

Cardinals pitcher Mike MacDougal (0.00 ERA) got the win, while Pedro Feliciano (2.90 ERA) took the loss for the Mets. Jaime Garcia went 6 innings for the Cardinals, allowed 6 hits, one home run and 3 earned runs with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts. Also pitching for the Cardinals was Mitchell Boggs (3.15), Jason Motte (2.36), Dennys Reyes (3.25), Kyle McClellan (1.98), and Trever Miller (3.55). The Mets’s starter Johan Santana went 5.2 innings, allowed 13 hits, one home run and 7 earned runs with one walk and 2 strikeouts. You don’t see baseball games as low-scoring as this, and when you do you better appreciate it!
